Children are divine; their minds are fresh and pure.Nevertheless, figuring out a way to discover and realize their hidden potential in real life is a challenge.
Nowadays there are many distractions and demands on the time of parents, and parenting has become more strenuous physically, mentally and emotionally. In addition, numerous disorders are confronting children such as type 1 diabetes, obesity and attention deficit disorder.
Many psychological disorders diagnosed in children involve physiological and/or genetic components. However, there are many other psychological disorders found in children that are without any physical causes.Disorders caused by physiological or biological problems are often identified early in life, but some of these problems are not identified until adulthood.Mental retardation, learning disorders, communication skills disorders and pervasive developmental disorders appear to have biological components.
The latest scientific studies warn parents that the modern education system restricts physical activity more than ever before, resulting in a need for better body awareness, self-control, flexibility and coordination.Children can carry these skills beyond their classrooms and into their lives. A holistic approach is needed to promote physical, mental and spiritual health. This is possible only through yoga.
Yoga theory states that the body is the extension of the mind. Yoga helps children to stretch, gently twisting their muscles and tendons with proper breathing, channeling their impulses in a positive way. This stimulation and relaxation improves blood circulation that supplies nutrients (such as glucose, amino acids, fatty acids, glycerol and micronutrients like vitamins & minerals) and oxygen to the peripheral tissues and removes metabolic waste products (toxins, carbon dioxide etc.) from the body. Kids have fun learning these movements and they enjoy the relaxation.
The simple chanting of Om makes their faces light up and smile. Yoga helps to improve their academic excellence with physical fitness and wellbeing.
