According to Sadasiva Brahmendra Saraswathi, the author of the Sivayogadipika, the yoga that helps to attain the superior state is Raja Yoga.
The science of Raja Yoga indicates the means for observing the internal state, with the focal point of observation being the mind itself. The power of attention, when guided properly and directed internally, will calm the mind, brings internal harmony and real knowledge (by seeing things as they really are).
Patanjali explained the science of Raja Yoga in the Yoga Sutra, where it is also known as Ashtanga Yoga. It is classified into four chapters, they are Samadhi Pada, Sadhana Pada, Vibhuti Pada and Kaivalya Pada.
