Post-Patanjali Period:
Yoga gradually developed as a subject after Patanjali.
This period can be considered as the time after 800 AD up to the present day.
Sri Sankaracharya (788-820 AD):
Sri Sankaracharya wrote commentaries on the Bhagavad-Gita, the Upanishads and the Brahman of the Advaita Brahma Sutra. His famous contributions in the field of yoga are the Yoga Taravali that is related to Hatha Yoga, Soundarya Lahari (about Kundalini Yoga) and a commentary on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
