Steps to perform this pose:
Lie down on the floor with the feet together
Keep the arms by the side of the body with palms on the floor
Breathe in and hold the breath
Slowly raise both legs, keeping the knees straight
Use the abdominal muscles to lift the legs up
Give gentle support to the lift by pressing the arms against the floor
Using the arms as a lever, bring the legs up to a 45 degree angle with the trunk
Separate the legs as far as is comfortable, and then bring them back together
Hold for a comfortable period of time
Relax as the position is released
