Singhasana
This pose is an imitation of a sitting lion. Generally, singhasana is practiced with the roaring lion posture (singha garjana asana), but the scriptures give this posture as a variation practice. This sitting position enables one to hold a meditative posture whilst completely still and well supported. This enables a practitioner to be able to observe and witness the slightest of movements within and around him.
Techniques:

- Keep the toes touching each other
- Place the palms in between the knees on the floor
- Fingers pointing towards the body

- Raise the chin up a little
- Keep the eyes closed and focus the awareness on the place in the centre of the eyebrows
- Keep the mouth closed and the body still
Contra-indications:
- Severe knee conditions
Benefits:
- Improves posture
