Vajrasana
Techniques:
- Kneel on the floor with knees close together
- Keep the big toes together and the heels separated
- Lower the buttocks and sit between the heels
- Heels should touch the sides of the hips
- Keep the spine erect and the palms placed on the knees
- The body is relaxed and the spine is in natural alignment
- Sit in this position for as long as it is comfortable
Contra-indications:
- Osteoarthritis
- Knee problems
- Pregnancy
- A beginner should only attempt this pose with the guidance of a yoga consultant
