Swastikasana
Techniques:
- Sit with legs stretched out in front
- Bend the left knee and place the left sole against the right inner thigh
- Left heel should not touch the perineum
- Bend the right knee
- Place the right foot in the gap between the left thigh and the left calf
- Right heel should be close to the pubis
- Pull the left foot into the space between the right calf and thigh
- Adjust the position to sit comfortably
- Place palms on the knees in the chin or gyan mudra (hand gesture)
Contra-indications:
- Sciatica
- Sacral injury
Benefits:
- Sitting in this posture promotes health
- Helps in alleviating varicose veins
- Good for tired or aching legs
- Help to reduce fluid retention in the legs
